More about Craig Watters
For a stretch of river that has seen culture and commerce for over 400 years, I’m new around here. I first visited the Hudson Highlands on via train in the fall of 2005, and even though I'm well travelled, these mountains made an instant and lasting impression on me that remains.
My first stop was Garrison, with an immediate coffee at an outdoor café table next to a still functioning pay phone booth outside of one of the most charming places in the entire Hudson Valley, Guinan's. I sat in stunned silence, absorbing the river, the mountains, the colors, and the imposing presence of West Point. Before returning to the city, I had hiked Breakneck Ridge, had dinner at the Cold Spring Depot, and had learned to not walk on the tracks in between the two.
I still stare at the river in amazement and consider how fortunate I am to live and work in the Hudson Highlands—an extraordinary mix of glaciers, generals, giants of industry, and great people.
I haven't always been in the real estate business. Following familiar advice, I found success in NYC doing what I loved, commercial product photography. But like the map maker at the dawn of the smart phone, technology changed the map business—and it changed the my niche in the photography industry too.
I still do what I love and find excitement in bringing my visual experience to this business. I continue to create and tell impactful stories about properties (now with 3D and drones!), treating each home as a key figure in a story while also recognizing its role in a larger narrative. It’s much more than just shingles and doors, windows and siding, and square footage; a home is part of a community, a bigger story. I'm proud to be a part of a small chapter in the story.
