Business Philosophy
I believe that a great real estate agent is a great listener, negotiator, and is knowledgeable of the market and of the offerings to assist clients in finding successful end results. Having grown up in a builder's family I am sensitive to the design, construction, and space and spatial relationship uniquely offered by each listing.
Education and Training
I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Penn State University, my Master's of Secondary School Science from Villanova, and taught 28 years at Scarsdale High School. I also have 90 graduate credits beyond the Master's degree.
Awards And Designations
Both in 1986 and 1995 I received the dedication to the Scarsdale High School yearbook and delivered the graduation address to these two classes. I know the high school programs as well as the elementary school programs and have 28 years experience elbow-to-elbow with the program makers and developers. I am an invaluable resource in knowing the education programs in this community as well as knowing the present housing market and would be delighted to be of help to you. Call anytime.
Personal Background
I have lived in Scarsdale for 46 years and own my house since 1976 at which time I assumed an 8.5% mortgage! Compared to today, the mortgage rate is a strong incentive to qualified buyers to purchase real property. The historically low mortgage rates offer one of the best times to buy in my opinion. I am very knowledgeable of the Scarsdale area and would be glad to help you or answer any of your questions in purchasing or selling a property. Joe was indefatigable in searching the county for a cooperative apartment that would suit my specifications, which were extremely demanding, and continued the search during my stay in Florida last winter. Joe Moffitt may be characterized as a "Johnny on the spot." He had been aware for some time of our desire to purchase an apartment in a particular building which rarely had vacancies. As soon as he learned of a potential apartment's coming onto the market, he alerted us and monitored the status of that apartment for more than a week on a hourly basis. And, so, with ten minutes of the apartment's availability, we were first in the door. Joe patiently returned with us numerous times as we measured, considered and reconsidered, bid and waited. When our bid was finally accepted, Joe personally drove paperwork to the seller's attorney in northern Westchester. Eventually, through no fault of Joe's nor of ours, the deal fell through! Joe stuck with us as another apartment came available in the same building. Once more Joe returned with us as we measured, bid and waited.
