Born in rural Pennsylvania, Scott then spent 40 years in Pittsburgh, where he built a successful career in the retail industry. With 38 years of experience, Scott started as a buyer for a major department store chain and later transitioned to Lucky Brand, where he managed national accounts. His career taught him the importance of building lasting relationships, mastering negotiation, and upholding values of honesty and credibility.

During the Covid pandemic, Scott and his husband Steve, both working remotely, took a spontaneous three-week trip to Sarasota in the fall of 2021 that changed everything.
