More about Lin Lavery

Lin Lavery is an award winning agent who knows the town and all of its unique communities.

Special Skills

When and if needed Lin has a network of contractors and subcontractors generalists and specialists for small jobs up to a significant remodeling whom she has used to make homes ready for sale to the great satisfaction of the home owners. Making a home ready for sale makes the sale goes much faster and it maximizes the value of the home.

She loves helping people who wish to move to Greenwich and her extensive knowledge of the different communities is invaluable to finding the right home. She recently helped her daughter find a home in Greenwich. Lin has lived most of her life in town and she and her husband raised their three children here. They attended public and private schools in Greenwich.

Lin is an active, pragmatic and effective community leader. She is a former Selectman of the Town of Greenwich and a past president of the Junior League of Greenwich. She chaired the project to open Kids in Crisis, a crisis intervention program which has served children in need of temporary housing from Fairfield County and beyond since the 1990s. She has served on the boards of The United Way of Greenwich, the Greenwich Library, Kids in Crisis and the Greenwich Commission on Aging. She co-chaired the Junior League's Conference on Aging. Lin is a past chair of the First Selectman's Nominations Advisory Committee, which evaluates and nominates candidates to head the Town's Boards and Commissions.

As Selectman, Lin began the Environmental Action Task Force, creating seven environmental policies for the town. She initiated and chaired the Greenwich Community Pool Committee, to revitalize Byram Park and replace the former substandard town pool. She co-chaired the Pool Committee when the Junior League became involved in the project as a public/private partnership. Lin is a serious gardener and her Greenwich gardens have been the subject of articles in The Wall Street Journal and Serendipity magazine. She is a Justice of the Peace, serves on the advisory board for At Home in Greenwich and has chaired her long-standing book group which has college professors recommend the readings and lead the discussions.
