More about Katherine Han

Katherine Han is an award winning real estate agent located in Westchester County and Manhattan, New York. Recognized by Westchester Business Journal for closing a record number of property sales as a new agent, she also surpassed the benchmark eligibility requirements to becoming a broker within her first year.

"My definition of wealth was first solely based on knowledge and will; i.e. study and work. As a second-generation American Xennial born in NYC, the top global-city, choosing a career in real estate acquisitions and managing assets wasn't the plan and neither was new construction development. Now, it's the only way to grow. In retrospect, it was a greater challenge for my parents who met here as emigrants from Korea; their hard work as Main Street entrepreneurs taught me how to preserver, especially as foreigners. I was exposed to construction and business acumen very early as child. I'm also a granddaughter of a merchant ship captain and steel construction project manager of high-rise developments in Seoul; while I never had the chance to meet them, their wisdom carried through my parents and I feel them with me whenever I venture off to explore new limits.

These experience shaped my perspective on success and wealth. It's been a long and arduous journey but as I expand, I also embrace the path that aligns my interests and skills. Even if this industry wasn't what I initially envisioned, I realize that timing is everything.

'Higher-risk, higher-reward' isn't just about money or material things; it applies to life and dreams.

Adaptability is key to building wealth; especially in a field like real estate and acquisitions where the landscape is dynamic and unpredictable. As my motto states "invest with purpose", this way we'll all yield positive outcomes. Through shared commitment and understanding and in order to overcome obstacles more effectively, we may exceed our own expectations and achieve great success in future endeavors by leveraging each other's strengths."

Katherine participated in numerous mentorship opportunities starting as a peer-mediator in junior high school; and in recent years volunteered to help high school students prepare for their college applications, and mentored college students with design concepts, interviews and employment. She also volunteered as one of 150 participants for Career Day at a South Bronx high school by invitation from a local FBI Agent. She continues to volunteer in support of those considered vulnerable, underprivileged, economically challenged and socially disadvantaged. Katherine operates a ProBono design consulting company founded just before the pandemic. Professionally, she is very active and involved as a committee volunteer for the following three associations: New York State Association of Realtors Young Professional Network, United States Green Building Council Equity Working Group, and the American Institute of Architects Emerging Professionals. Prior to this, she served on numerous boards and committees of Arts + Cultural nonprofits.

"I chose Coldwell Banker White Plains Regional Center because our Managing Broker, Michael Weiss, and Administrative Team, bridges the generations very well; as the grounding anchor they balance all of our needs while the industries pivot and evolve. Our systems and resources are beyond stellar, streamlining many digital platforms that amplify our efforts seamlessly so that we have more time to manage our client's needs. Coldwell Banker, founded at the turn of the century, is now one of the leading brands alongside affiliate brokerages Sotheby's International Realty and The Corcoran Group; as Anywhere Advisors, an American publicly-owned real estate company, we completed over $295 billion in U.S. sales volume in 2023, won the Women's Choice Award (6 years in a row now), #1 Most Effective Real estate Advertising (11 years in a row) and ranked #1 in RISMedia's Annual Power Broker Survey!

Perhaps you have a similar philosophy and may benefit from her experience; to accomplish more by drawing upon diverse perspectives and skill sets. Before attaining her Real Estate license, she worked with various architects and boutique firms throughout Westchester and Manhattan; mostly designing high-performance new construction multi-family developments, mixed-use retrofits and luxury interiors for commercial retail, resi-syndicates, high-net worth individuals and charitable organizations such as the Annenberg Foundation. As an NCARB candidate to becoming a licensed architect, Katherine is also pursuing two graduate degrees including a Ph.D., in Architecture and International Relations. Her latest work as a writer and artist, Convergence Zero, summarizes a collection of reflections articulated by abstract diagrams as well as photographs accompanied by essays.

She emphasizes the importance of compassion and demonstrations of love as a way to contribute towards a healthy and just society.

"After many years of observation including personal trials, I've determined that health is wealth; and second, social health is local wealth. I began to accept our true nature and collective potential, I pulled together the Convergence Zero collection; it is also dedicated to everyone I've met along the way.

Shifting gears from architecture to real estate was a logical career move, given the overlapping skills and knowledge between the two fields; merging philosophies however wasn't as simple. However, Learning how to engage and build relations beyond business and aesthetics by exploring the nonprofit realm simultaneously, took precedence and it helped complete the bigger picture. Volunteering within the community through Arts + Culture based institutions, and serving alongside civic-minded advocates, 'ideals of philanthropy' became a way to re-direct and overlay both industries towards a single purpose. This growing passion and determination makes incorporating unconventional variables into popular proforma's much easier.

This way, I've become a multi-faceted, wholistic advisor; and adopted a personal motto: practice makes perfect.

Peers, mentors, advisors and a myriad of authors throughout my life helped me see the many facets of our world through shared experiences. To be content about my endeavors (past, present and future) is a long-awaited achievement and I'm truly grateful to those who encouraged me to continue to pursue my interests and supported my decisions, even when it seemed too far off the beaten path. Taking on seemingly hopeless challenges were the best investments I've ever made.”
