More about Amanda Johnston

How did you get into real estate? (and when?)

Working my way through college at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, I used to spend my summer and winter breaks sitting in display homes my real estate agent aunt was selling in new developments in the Chesterfield/Wildwood area. I guess you could say that’s when I got bit by the real estate bug. I decided that in addition to my career as a chemist for pharmaceutical companies, I needed to go all-in. I got my real estate license. My husband and I have owned investment properties along the way, and getting my license was such a natural evolution in my relationship with real estate. I wake up every day doing what I love, so it really doesn't feel like work!

Who are your clients?

I honestly love helping everyone, but first-time homebuyers might be my favorite. I love showing them the ropes, and I’m passionate about helping young families find the home they’re going to build their lives in. There’s something so rewarding in seeing their faces when they walk into “the one,” and I can just tell it’s their home. I myself am a mother of three, and my husband and I have fostered two family members, so family is very dear to my heart.

Where do you live?

My family and I live in Wentzville — and love it. It’s up-and-coming. Braxton’s not in school, he has that same safe neighborhood feel that I grew up with. I grew up in St. Peters and went to Fort Zumwalt South, which is why I love this area.

What do you do outside of real estate?

We have a cabin in Sullivan, Missouri, that we love to go to as a family. We fish, swim and ride around on four-wheelers side-by-side. We just love the outdoors. My youngest son is in sports so that takes up a good part of our time. He’s on a select baseball team and we love our baseball family!
