Community Involvement
Throughout my adult life I have been involved with many community organizations. I am currently on the board of the Mystic River Watershed Association and Green Cambridge, an environmental organization. I am also a member of the Cambridge Club and serve as treasurer and member of the Awards Committee. I have served on the Cambridge City Council and look forward to continued engagement with local government. In the past I've worked with parent's groups for the Cambridgeport School, a public school I helped start in 1990. I also helped start Cambridge ECO (Environmental Citizen's Organization), Pick-a-pocket Gardeners, Little Free Library Steward and HEET (Home Energy Efficiency Team). I've been active in my neighborhood group and my local Community Garden in Kendall Square. Being a part of my community has enriched my life and I hope helped others.

Personal Background
I have lived in Cambridge since 1980 - first in Kendall Square, then Inman Square and now Central Square. My daughters grew up in Cambridge and attended Cambridge Public Schools. My oldest daughter, her husband and three sons moved recently to Stoneham, a Boston suburb. My youngest daughter, her husband and their sons bought a farm in a suburb of Toronto. While I'm sad that my children were not able to stay in Cambridge, its great to have fun places to visit!

I've been employed in all three sectors of the economy: for-profit, non-profit and government.  There is a richness to talk about when we're not talking about Real Estate.

Communities I Serve
I've lived in Cambridge since 1980 and gained a working knowledge of Cambridge, Somerville, Arlington, Medford, Watertown, Belmont and Boston. My service on the Cambridge City Council has deepened my knowledge of Cambridge and the surrounding communities

Work Narrative
My first job out of college was in an MIT lab working on cancer research. From there I moved to McLean Hospital to research Alzheimer's disease. Those lab experiences made me realize I wanted to continue my studies in the medical area and I attended Boston University School of Public Health to study epidemiology (study of epidemics) and environmental health. After getting my Master's in Public Health I worked for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health in Jamaica Plain. Many years later, I was recruited to help run a startup biotech company initially to understand a third world disease caused by a parasitic nematode. Gradually the company grew and we took on drug discovery projects using nematodes with a neurological focus. After a decade, we sold the company and I joined a non-profit medical research company with a mission to cure Huntington's disease, a devastating neurological disease. I left that company in 2005 to pursue more community engagement in my Cambridge neighborhood. By 2011 I was elected to the Cambridge City Council by the residents of Cambridge who I had listened to and helped over the years. Now as a real estate agent in the area, I continue my mission to listen to and help people. If you need guidance selling, buying or renting your property, let me help you too.
