More about Jon Dodson

Jonathon " Jon" Dodson started his real estate career in November of 2005 after retiring from the U.S. Army as a 1SG. While serving he was stationed in the Republic of Korea from 1982-1983, 1985-1986, and 1998-1999. Fort Polk, Louisiana from 1983-1985. In the Gulf War, Desert Shield and Desert Storm 1990-1991. He was also stationed in Germany from 1987-1992. Fort Lewis 1992-1994. Fort Hood from 1994-2002. And Fort Bliss from 2002-2005. A career in real estate was attractive to him because after serving for so long he thought he could help those still serving and other veterans. Just as he did while he was still serving he is always training and staying up to date with the many markets we have in the Central Texas area.

Buying a home will likely be one of the biggest purchases of your life. Having a knowledgeable real estate agent to walk you through the process is imperative for a smooth transaction. Due to frequent relocations, it’s also important for an agent to understand the importance of strong resale value. He has worked with active-duty service members and he understands they'll need to identify a home that not only fits the service member's current needs. Jon will also make sure the home has the potential for a quick and profitable resale once the service member receives PCS orders again. The Department of Veterans Affairs has created a few unique requirements for VA loans, to ensure buyers purchase homes that are a solid investment. The VA established a set of minimum property requirements (MPRs) to ensure all homes purchased by veterans and service members are safe, sanitary, and structurally sound. I am familiar with minimum property requirements and will point out possible MPR issues before going under contract.
